About

You have unlocked this door with a key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind. Yer moving into a land of both shadow and substance of things and ideas. It's time to Erase Yer Head to a transparent plate and engross yerself in some in/out of the box film reviews. The quality, not the quantity of our content is what truly matters here.

A message from the webmaster:

I have always had a passion for writing about film and been intrigued by the art of filmmaking since a teenager--writing, directing, editing, and creating my own films among analyzing the work of other great talents. As a writer and reviewer for this site I aim for my readers to take away some degree of understanding from the films they read about and watch to synthesize their own opinions.

This project began around April 2015. There will be many more reviews to come by in the near future. Most of the reviews on Erase Yer Head are either positive or very negative. I love writing about exceptional films, but ripping apart exceptionally bad films is just as fun. These are all usually films which I have seen enough times to have a lot to say in detail. I find that upon most of my repeated film viewings I pick up a thing or two more.

At Erase Yer Head, everyone on our publication team has a specific style of writing and taste in movies. It shouldn't take long to be able to understand each writer's general point of view based on their reviews. Most of these articles have arbitrary numerical ratings, which as we all know is a flawed system. If anyone was around for the TV generation of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" I throw out scores like Drew Carey, where "the points don't matter." My hope is that the reader has a greater understanding and/or appreciation of the film

My taste has a tendency to fall in niche genres. Therefore, many of my more detailed analysis are on more eccentric films. With my articles, I hope to expand yer horizons with my reputably peculiar taste in films. I am sure you will find a few familiars here, but for the most part we like our obscurity.

Ross Goodman: A B.F.A. Film School student at The University of Central Florida (UCF) before dropping out on year 3 because of my uncompromising and rather pretentious stance that I could somehow learn more outside the classroom. Overall I have been in the field of filmmaking for over a decade as a director, editor, writer, and composer for many of his own independent films.

Ross's Websites:

It is our ultimate goal to introduce you to good films and steer you away from the time consuming clunkers. I want you to see the films I write about, and experience for yer self the unique artistry of each. Our reviews do not simply state whether or not a film is a classic or a waste of life, we explain why, what ticks and what doesn't. Our comments section below every review welcomes any and every debate material.

We hope to, if anything, provoke thought when it comes to the intellectual side one of America's favorite lazy pastimes--watching movies and poppin popcorn, lounging on the couch and having a good time doing it.
